The questions that arrive after hours

These are the questions auto repair shops answer by hand every day, and the ones that go unanswered at night and on weekends. Each has a correct answer that only you know. An assistant trained on your answers gives it instantly.

  • Can you look at my car today?
  • How much is a diagnostic, an oil change, a state inspection, a set of tires?
  • Do you work on my make and model?
  • Is my car ready yet?
  • Do you offer a loaner, a shuttle or after-hours drop-off?
  • Do you honor my extended warranty, and do you offer financing?

Answered, booked, handed off

  • Hours, services, makes you work on and the prices you publish, answered from your own list
  • Year, make, model and the symptom captured in the customer's words, with a drop-off booked into the slots you release
  • "Is my car ready" answered from the work-order status you set, so the service writer stops taking those calls
  • Warranty, financing and loaner questions answered from your rules, never guessed
  • A summary to the service writer after each conversation: who, what car, what is wrong, when it arrives

Three things, worked through

Worked examples, not case studies: how each service applies to auto repair shops.

AI assistant

Say a four-bay shop takes sixty calls a day and a third of them are "is my car ready" and "how much for". The assistant answers the price questions from the shop's own published menu (oil change, state inspection, diagnostic fee), takes the year, make, model and symptom for everything else, books the next drop-off slot and sends the service writer a summary. Ready-for-pickup questions are answered from the status the shop sets on the work order, so the phone stops ringing with them and the writer stays with the customer at the counter.

How we build ai assistants →

Website

A fast site that says what you fix, which makes you specialise in and where you are, in the first paragraph. One page per job (brake repair, AC repair, check engine light, state inspection, alignment) that answers what it costs and how long it takes, a page for your warranty and financing, your certifications stated in text, reviews shown, and a booking form that reaches the service writer instantly. Written so an AI engine can name you when someone asks who fixes a Honda AC nearby.

How we build websites →

Automation

A reminder the day before the appointment, an "approve this estimate" text with a tap to approve that writes the approval back to the work order, a "your car is ready" text when the work order closes, a review request after pickup, and service reminders by mileage and date so the next oil change comes back to you instead of the dealer.

How we build automations →

What to automate first

In the order we recommend, by hours saved for effort spent. Most auto repair shops start with the first item and add the rest over a few months.

  • Phone and message overflow during the day, because a missed call is a car that goes to the next shop
  • Estimate approvals by text, the longest wait in most shops
  • Ready-for-pickup and appointment reminder texts
  • Service reminders by mileage and date

Questions auto repair shops ask us

Can the assistant quote repair prices?

Only the ones you publish: a diagnostic fee, an oil change, a state inspection, tire mounting. For anything that needs a look it books the car in and says so. It never guesses a repair cost.

Can it answer "is my car ready" without bothering the service writer?

Yes, as long as the shop keeps the work-order status current. The assistant reads the status and answers from it, and anything it cannot see goes to a person.

Does it work with our shop management software?

Often, yes. We connect to common shop management and scheduling tools, or to a booking page where direct integration is not available, and confirm this before quoting.

We are a two-person shop. Is this too much?

It is often most useful at that size, because nobody can answer the phone from under a car. Start with the assistant for calls and messages and add the texts later.

Does the website need to list prices?

Not every price. Publishing the ones you are comfortable with (inspection, oil change, diagnostic fee) and saying what affects the rest is what gets your page quoted when someone asks an AI engine what a brake job costs nearby.

What does it cost?

A website assistant that answers questions and books drop-offs is the smallest project; phone handling and shop software integration add to it. Fixed quote after a free discovery call.

Does AI recommend your business?

Give us your website and an email address. We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI the questions your customers ask, and send you a one-page report: how many answers named you, who was named instead, and the three fixes that matter most. No cost, no obligation.
