The questions that arrive after hours

These are the questions home services answer by hand every day, and the ones that go unanswered at night and on weekends. Each has a correct answer that only you know. An assistant trained on your answers gives it instantly.

  • Do you do emergency repairs, and how fast can you come?
  • What do you charge for a service call or a quote?
  • Do you service my area?
  • Can someone come out tomorrow morning?
  • Is this covered under warranty?
  • Can I get an estimate for a new unit, a re-roof, a weekly service?

Answered, booked, handed off

  • Every after-hours call or message answered, with the job details captured in your words
  • Service-area and pricing questions answered from your own rules, never guessed
  • Booking into the windows you release, with a confirmation text to the customer
  • Emergencies (no heat, active leak, no power) sent to the on-call number immediately
  • A text to the owner after each conversation: who, where, what, when

Three things, worked through

Worked examples, not case studies: how each service applies to home services.

AI assistant

Say an HVAC company misses a dozen calls a week after 6 pm in summer. The assistant answers, asks the three questions a dispatcher would (what is happening, where, when did it start), books the first morning window or flags a no-cooling call to the on-call tech, and texts the owner a summary. The crew wakes up to a schedule, not voicemails.

Website

A fast site that says what you do, where, and how to book, in the first paragraph. Service pages per trade and problem ("AC not cooling", "water heater replacement"), a service-area page, licence and insurance stated, reviews shown, and a booking or callback form that reaches you instantly.

How we build websites →

Automation

The quote goes out, two reminders follow automatically, and the owner is told only when the customer replies. Appointment confirmations and "on our way" texts. Invoice on job completion, reminders at 7 and 14 days, stopping when paid. A review request after each completed job.

How we build automations →

What to automate first

In the order we recommend, by hours saved for effort spent. Most home services start with the first item and add the rest over a few months.

  • Missed calls and after-hours messages, because each one is a job that goes to the next company
  • Quote follow-up, the quietest source of lost revenue
  • Confirmations and reminders, to cut no-access visits
  • Invoice reminders, so cash arrives without chasing

Questions home services ask us

Can the assistant answer the phone, not just the website?

Yes. A voice assistant takes after-hours and overflow calls, captures the job details, books a window and transfers emergencies to a person. Website chat and text messages use the same setup.

Will it quote prices?

Only the ones you give it: a service-call fee, a diagnostic price, a starting-from range you already publish. Anything beyond that it books an estimate for. It never invents a number.

What about emergencies?

You define what counts (no heat below a temperature, active leak, no power, gas smell) and where those calls go. The assistant recognises them and hands off immediately.

Does it work with the job software we use?

Usually. We connect to common field-service and CRM tools, or to a booking page where direct integration is not available, and we confirm this before quoting.

We are a two-person company. Is this overkill?

It is often most useful at that size, because nobody is free to answer the phone on a job. Start with the missed-call assistant and add automation as the business grows.

What does it cost?

A website assistant that answers questions and books is the smallest project; phone handling and software integration add to it. Fixed quote after a free discovery call.

Does AI recommend your business?

Tell us your business and website. We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI the questions your customers ask, and send you a one-page report: how many answers named you, who was named instead, and the three fixes that matter most. No cost, no obligation.
